Arctic Tern Books is the imprint of Anchorage author Tom Brennan.
Tom is the author of four books, a collection of Alaska humor and two true-crime books, all published by Epicenter Press. His latest is a novel published by Arctic Tern Books, his own company.
He came to Alaska in 1967 to work for The Anchorage Times and went to work for ARCO shortly after the oil discovery, continuing there for 11 years as manager of public relations. starting just after the discovery at Prudhoe Bay and continuing through construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline.
He later spent 18 months at Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. and was a member of the initial response team for the Exxon Valdez disaster.
After ARCO, he became a communications consultant to industry and others, returning to journalism as an editorial writer/columnist for The Voice of The Times in 2000. Since The Times ceased publication in October, 2008, he has been pursuing his writing hobby full-time.
His first book was published in 2000 and he has been working on new books continuously ever since, with three more now in the making. He is currently attempting – despite misgivings – to write two books at once.
