What makes a captivating mystery novel? What do writers and detectives notice that others overlook? Where does an author's lived and imaginary experience intersect?
Join us to discuss these topics and more with beloved, local mystery writer, Paul Doiron. For over 25 years, Paul's been crafting addictive Maine-based mystery novels with game and fish warden, Mike Bowditch, as his protagonist detective.
Following an initial interview-style discussion of craft and Maine and mystery, there will be a generous amount of time for questions from the audience.
Paul's latest book "Storm Tide" will also be available for purchase and personal inscription.

What does parenting a child with severe mental illness look like? How does that change (or not) when the child becomes an adult? Where do the responsibilities to the child and the self merge and converge? And what are the ripple effects in a family and community?
In this first public event for the brave and necessary memoir "What Kind of Mother", author Judy Sandler will be answering these questions and many more.
Join us for this meaningful evening of dialogue and celebration as we welcome this book to the world and congratulate Judy for her courage, dedication, and exceptional literary talent.

Yin yoga is an all-levels, floor-based practice of slow, mindful postures that are entered with care and held for one to four minutes. The intention is to cultivate awareness of sensation, inviting the joints and connective tissues to soften and find space while encouraging healing and resilience. As the body opens, we ease the mind, settling into stillness, presence, and quiet awareness.
This practice extends beyond the mat, inviting you to carry its softness, patience, and attention into the world.
This nourishing experience is augmented by curated music, selected poetry and a signature guided final rest.
New and seasoned students are welcome. Cushioned mats and blankets are provided.
Space is limited for this drop-in class, so come early to secure your spot.. Doors open at 5:45 pm.

In these 90-minute gatherings, you’re invited to pause, reflect, and listen to yourself and others in a gently facilitated circle.
Circle offers a place to be reassured that you are not alone, that you are enough, and to pay attention to that inner voice that can be drowned out by the day to day.
There will be no wisdom handed down and no fixing. All agree to hold everything shared in confidence.
Using poetry and other texts as prompts, circle leaders Susan Bates and Allison Worden guide us to reflect and give voice to what arises. Participation is limited to 10. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to attend.
LOCATION: Arctic Tern Sanctuary, 434 Main Street, Rockland, Maine

• Resonant vibrations of live cello leading you through each practice
• Meditation & grounding guided by sound and resonance
