The electrifying book In Her Own Right by Chelsea Madeline is an intimate exploration of the myths, realities, and legacies of creative women across time.
This exhibit showcases select excerpts from the book and is a response to Chelsea's call for us to value, preserve, and champion not just the creative outputs of women but the space and time required for artistic pursuits.
The exhibit is augmented by a selection of books by and about the female artists featured in In Her Own Right. From Sappho to Taylor Swift, Judy Blume to Jamaica Kincaid, Hilma AF Klint to Lee Krasner, the range is sweeping and awesome in the most literal sense of the word.
